Well-known former NHL star Theo Fleury is coming to Antigonish, Feb. 15 and 16, where he’ll be giving a couple of talks.
Presented by the Antigonish RCMP and the Naomi Society, the Stanley Cup and Olympic gold medal winner will be at the Schwartz School of Business auditorium at 7 p.m., on the 15th, giving a talk titled Don’t Quit Before the Miracle.
It’s a free event focused for university and high school level athletes.
The following morning, 7:30 a.m. at the Keating Centre, Fleury will present Raising Awareness on Sexual Abuse.
The breakfast event is focused for “coaches/leaders and board members of community sport and recreation organizations.”
Tickets are available for the event and can be purchased by calling the Naomi Society at 902-863-3807. Tickets should be purchased by Feb. 10.
The talks take place during Family Violence Prevention Week, Feb. 12 to 18, in Nova Scotia.
The Naomi Society is planning a couple of ‘learning lunches’ sessions during the week – for details calls the society – and is encouraging folks to wear purple on Friday, Feb. 17, “to show support for victims of family violence.”
