Antigonish Track Club members have been training hard, since May, under the direction of Allan Boutillier and Gina MacInnis. The club sent 13 athletes, ranging from tyke to senior, to Atlantic Run, Jump, Throw and Wheel and the Atlantic Track and Field Championships, in Pictou, July 22 and 23.
The club came away with 16 medals including gold for the bantam and midget women’s 4×400 relay teams.
The bantam relay team included Iris Leuschner, Jessa Cameron, Anna Robinson and Bryn Canning. The midget relay team included Malia Artibello, Emma Cameron, Siona Chisholm and Sara Stewart.
The Antigonish Track Club placed 10th out of 27 teams.
Antigonish Track Club individual results are as follows;
Boys age 4 to 9 tetrathlon
Kahlil Bower-Branch won gold in the multi-event tetrathlon out of 26 competitors. He finished his four events with 729 points, 71 points ahead of the second-place finisher. He placed first in the 60m and 600m runs, as well as the long jump. Isaac Cameron placed eighth in the 600m.
Girls age 12 to 13
Anna Robinson, second in the 800m, third in 1200m;
Bryn Canning, third in 800m;
Emma Cameron, first in long jump, second in 1200m, second in 2000m;
Jessa Cameron, seventh in 150m;
Iris Leuschner, fourth in 80m, sixth in 150m, fourth in long jump;

Malia Artibello, fifth in 200m, first in 300m;
Mairin Canning, second in 800m;
Siona Chishom, second in 1200m, second in 2000m;
Women 20 to 34
Hana Marmura, second in 800m, first in 1500m;

Aidan Canning; first in 5000m.
