L’Arche Antigonish is having its 2nd Annual Fun Walk/Run on Sep 24.
The Fun Walk/Run will feature a 5 km walk/run beginning at 10 a.m. at the Oland Centre on the St. F.X. campus.
And, in true L’Arche Antigonish fashion, there will be a barbeque and music at the finish line.
L’Arche is an international federation of communities founded by Canadian Jean Vanier, where men and women with intellectual disabilities, and those who choose to share life with them, live and work together.
Situated in the small university town of Antigonish, L’Arche Antigonish has been operating since 1979. Today, our community is home to 23 people with intellectual disabilities, living in five homes and one apartment.
Our homes, day programs and summer camp offer a variety of learning experiences and foster a spirit of cooperation and a discovery of each other’s uniqueness.
L’Arche is closely connected with St. F.X. Each year more than 60 university student volunteers participate in various programs.
If you would like to get involved and help L’Arche Antigonish, there are a variety of ways to do so; sponsor the Fun Walk/Run if you are a business -contact Janette Rhynold at [email protected]
