In recent Antigonish Rural League hockey action, St. Croix shutout the Outlaws 3-0.
In the game played at the Antigonish Arena Oct. 21, Bryden Boudreau and James Williams each recorded a goal and assist. Steve Doyle had the other St. Croix marker.
The previous Saturday (Oct. 14), St Croix was the victim of a 3-0 shutout, at the hands of Pleasantdale.
Ryan Keefe had two goals and an assist in the win while Tyson Ball had a goal and assist.
And while the Outlaws’ offense was quiet Oct. 21, it was certainly livelier on the 14th as they scored 12 goals in a rout of defending-league champion Heatherton.
Garret Holmes had a hat-trick in the win, while adding an assist, and two goal performances were achieved by Josh Landry and Dave McCarty, who also had an assist.
Coady March had a goal and three assists, Ryan Langille and Jake Kerr a goal and two assists each, Innis MacDonald a goal and assist and Tyler Hayne had the other Outlaws’ goal.
Tyler VanOirschot, William Landry and Dan MacDougall each recorded two assists in the win.
For Heatherton, Reilly Bowie had two goals and Josh Robertson one.
This Saturday (Nov. 4) sees a rematch of the Oct. 14 games with Heatherton and the Outlaws facing off at 7 p.m. followed at 8:30 by St. Croix versus Pleasantdale.
Last year’s league scoring champion, Brandon Verge of Pleasantdale, has the early lead in league point totals with five. Five players sit in second place with four.
