A four-goal performance by St. Croix’s Bryden Boudreau and the Outlaws handing Pleasantdale their first defeat of the season, highlighted Antigonish Rural League hockey action Nov. 18, at the Antigonish Arena.
Boudreau’s outburst came at the expense of the winless Heatherton Warriors with the results ending 7-3 in favour of St. Croix.
Murdock MacLellan had a goal and three assist in the win while Tanner Messenger and Spensor Barron each recorded a goal and an assist. Tim MacPherson added two assists.
For Heatherton, Mike Tobin had two goals while Kory Tate recorded a goal and an assist.
Jordan MacInnis led the Outlaws in the upset of Pleasantdale with a two goal and one assist effort.
Jake Kerr, Innis MacDonald and Josh Landry scored the other Outlaws goals while Ryan Langille and Colby VanOirschot each added two assists.
Scoring for Pleasantdale were Adam Dunphy, Garrett Lambke and Tyson Ball.
Standings after seven games sees Pleasantdale leading with 17 points, followed closely by St. Croix with 15. The Outlaws have 10 while defending league champion Heatherton is still seeking their first points.
Pleasantdale’s Brandon Verge leads the point race with 20 (15 goals, five assists) in six games. He is followed by teammate Lambke who has 12 (four goals, eight assists).
This Saturday (Dec. 2), the Warriors take on Pleasantdale in the early game, a 7 p.m. puck-drop, while the Outlaws and St. Croix game follows at 8:30.
