The Cape Breton West (CBW) major midget Islanders continued their strong season with a couple of road-victories, in early December action.
Dec. 2 at the Sportsplex in Dartmouth, CBW doubled Steele Subaru 4-2.
Veteran centre Fearghus MacDonald recorded a goal and assist in the contest and he was joined by Matthew Raike, Stephen Fox and Jack Morris as goal scorers, and Luke Hadley, Sam Grant and goaltender Ewan MacDonald with assists.
MacDonald made 25 saves to record the victory, with both Dartmouth goals coming on the power-play.
Dec. 6 in Membertou, Fox, the leading scorer in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League (NSMMHL), recorded a hat-trick as the Islanders nipped their Cape Breton rivals, the Tradesmen, 5-4.
Fearghus MacDonald matched his Dartmouth stats with a goal and an assist while Calum MacPherson and Dell Welton each registered two helpers in the game.
Draper MacLean scored the other CBW goal while Raike and Morris added one assist each.
