Antigonish business Tony’s Meats is one of 11 companies to be honoured for their success in exporting, at the Nova Scotia Export Achievement Awards, June 12.

This year's 34th annual awards received a record number of applications under a revised format. Now, with five new categories, the awards will honour and celebrate businesses of diversity, new and innovating exporters, and those excelling nationally and internationally.

This year’s keynote speaker is Ross Simmonds, a digital marketing strategist, entrepreneur, and founder of Foundation Marketing. Simmonds will speak to his global experiences under the topic of; Embracing the Chaos: How to create opportunity from smart experiments.

                “We're proud to present a new and updated format for the awards, which includes shining a spotlight on the new, and diverse companies championing export in our province," Laurel Broten, president and CEO of Nova Scotia Business Inc., said.

“Exporters in our province are working tirelessly to sell Nova Scotia goods and services to the world, and we're excited to celebrate their accomplishments through the awards."

In addition to the awards, there will be two free business workshops hosted at Pier 21’s Windsor Foundation Classroom; 9:30 to 11 a.m. - Making Global Feel Like Local: Growing your business through e-commerce, and from 2:30 to 4 p.m. - Harnessing Data Intelligence: What is your business desperately trying to tell you?

The awards luncheon will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at Kenneth C. Rowe Hall, Pier 21 in Halifax.
