The 2011 National Music Festival wrapped up Saturday night in Antigonish with the grand award competition.
Ontario violinist Blake Pouliot was the big winner as he took home the grand award which included a cash award of $5,000.
Four Nova Scotia competitors picked up awards on the night. The list includes Laura MacLean second in voice, Heemin Choi second in string, Matthew Martin third in guitar and Adrienne Richey third in woodwind.
Federation of Canadian Music Festivals president Pam Allen noted St. F.X. provided an excellent venue and, once again, the festival featured an extremely impressive display on young classical musicians from across the country.
