ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, N.S. — Home Hardware retail locations in Middleton, Bridgetown, and Greenwood have new owners.

Rob and Joanne Lawrie of Annapolis Royal said May 6 that they have added four more retail locations to their portfolio, including Bridgetown Home Hardware Building Centre, Middleton Home Hardware, Middleton Home Furniture, and Greenwood Home Hardware.

Their other locations include Annapolis Royal Home Hardware Building Centre and Meteghan Home Hardware Building Centre.

The Lawries have been operators since 1999 when they purchased their first location from Rob’s parents in Annapolis Royal. Since then they have been busy building their team and developing their business.

“We are excited to continue to grow our retail footprint and introduce our operating philosophy in these new locations, said Rob Lawrie.”

“It’s very exciting and we are ready to put our own personal touch on these businesses and have some exciting changes in store,” Joanne Lawrie said.

With more locations in proximity to each other, there are strong synergies the Lawries hope to take advantage of.

“We will continue to expand and leverage our buying opportunities with the increased volume and we look forward to sharing resources between the stores,” said Rob Lawrie. “Each store is surprisingly unique in its own way, so we’re looking to take advantage of that.”

“Home Hardware is a great Canadian company and we are very proud of that,” said Joanne Lawrie. “We believe in great customer service and will continue to work with our staff to make sure they are trained and ready to serve.”

The acquisition has been in the works for a while, and due to the complexity of the sale it’s taken a bit of time, said Rob Lawrie. “But we’re finally there,” he said.

“At first the changes will be small but we’re hopeful to make some improvements over time, providing our customers with the best possible shopping experience,” said Joanne Lawrie.
