Nova Scotia’s population increased by 4,751 between July 1 and Sept. 30. The population as of Oct. 1 was 964,693, the highest population for Nova Scotia on record, according to the provincial government.
This quarter’s increase reflects an increase in immigrants and net interprovincial migration offsetting the natural population change.
Compared with Oct. 1, 2017, Nova Scotia’s population has increased by 1.08 per cent, or 10,319, while the national population grew by 1.44 per cent.
