Middleton celebrates Canada Day 2019

MIDDLETON, N.S. —

It rained on Canada Day in Middleton, but that didn't mean residents didn't celebrate Canada's 152nd anniversary of Confederation -- they arrived at Macdonald Museum by the dozens.

Activities were planned for the museum's front law, but the wet stuff moved the fun indoors where museum director Jan Slauenwhite welcomed everyone and Mayor Sylvestor Atkinson reminded everyone that Canada is regularly No. 1 on the list of the best places in the world in which to live.

The museum was packed with young and old alike as Test of Time performed vintage songs, cupcakes were served, faces were painted, and flags were unfurled and waved. People were wearing lots of red, maple leafs were evident, and patriotism was on display at every turn. There was lots to do for the kids from the face painting to fishing for prizes and colouring red maple leafs.
