Whether it is making a splash during a polar bear swim or sipping on moose milk during a levee, there is plenty to do today (Jan. 1) to help ring in the New Year in the Strait region.
The Town of Antigonish and Municipality of the County of Antigonish will host what has become a traditional New Year’s Levee, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Royal Canadian Legion Arras Branch 59 in the East Coast Credit Union Social Enterprise Centre on St. Ninian Street.
Everyone is invited to pop in for some refreshments and entertainment.
Down the street, from 2 to 4 p.m., the Antigonish Heritage Society and Antigonish Highland Society will welcome visitors to the Antigonish Heritage Museum.
In Port Hawkesbury, at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 on Reeves Street, the service organization will open its doors to the community for its annual levee, from 1 to 5 p.m.
From 2 to 5 p.m., Final Cut Band will provide entertainment to help kick-off 2019.
Members are encouraged to wear legion dress for the festivities.
