SYDNEY, N.S. — SYDNEY, N.S. — A 19-year-old Glace Bay man has been released on conditions after being charged with weapon and assault offences.

Dawson Jessome of Cameron Street is charged with five counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon (a knife), two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (a knife) and a single count of assault causing bodily harm.

The offences are alleged to have occurred between October 2018 and January of this year.

Jessome has been released on conditions that include no contact with the complainants in the case, he is not to possess any weapons and is to stay away from two addresses in Glace Bay along with Glace Bay High School.

Jessome is to return to provincial court Sept. 5 to enter pleas.
