SYDNEY, N.S. —

Inverness MLA Allan MacMaster has been named the new official Opposition house leader for the upcoming legislature session.

“Allan will bring a calm, logical and steadfast approach to the chamber,” Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Houston said in a release. Houston made the announcement on Wednesday.

“He has my full trust and confidence that he will conduct himself in a collaborative way with the other house leaders.”

MacMaster is taking over as house leader from Argyle-Barrington MLA Chris d’Entremont, who had been the house leader for the PC caucus since 2010.

“I am honoured to be able to carry on the work of Chris and other house leaders in our legislature’s 200-year history,” said MacMaster. “It will be a new experience in the coming weeks and I look forward to bringing my perspective to the position.”

D’Entremont is seeking the federal nomination for West Nova.
