Additional charges laid in attempted murder in Waycobah

The RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating after a man was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Monday morning in Langley.

WAYCOBAH FIRST NATION – Additional charges have been laid in an attempted murder incident on Aug. 25 in Waycobah.

RCMP say on Sept. 5, Jenileee Kaitlyn Francis, 18, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and obstruction in the incident.

Joshua Lindsay Paul, 26, and Robert Lindsay Paul, 34, both from Eskasoni, appeared in Port Hawkesbury provincial court on Aug. 26, charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon in the incident.

They’ve been remanded to Sept. 13, RCMP say.

On Aug. 25, Inverness County RCMP responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a man being chased by two other men on Portage Road around 3:30 a.m.

Later, RCMP received calls of a hit and run on Highway 105 and determined both incidents were connected.

The man was taken to the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
