Community builders

Casey and Toosje Van de Sande, recipients of the Patrick C. Hanley Community Builder Award, accept a plaque commemorating their recognition. The Van de Sandes selected the Antigonish Community Food Bank to be the recipient of the $500 donation that comes with the award.

The award is the result of a collaboration between the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce and the CIBC Antigonish branch to reward, celebrate and recognize local community builders.

Also pictured are Richard Burelle, executive director of the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce (left), Dan Fougere, president of the Antigonish Chamber of Commerce, David MacGillivray with CIBC Wood Gundy and Ed Joyce, Antigonish branch manager for CIBC. MacGillivray is the grandson of Patrick C. Hanley, the man whose memory the award honours.
