A stolen vehicle pursuit led to a man’s arrest in connection to a Canadian Tire Gas Bar robbery in Dartmouth on Tuesday night.
Halifax Regional Police responded to a robbery report at the 566 Main St. gas station at 8:06 p.m., according to a police news release.
A man robbed the store of cigarettes and cash while armed with a gun, an employee told police. No one was hurt.
The area was searched but no suspect was found.
However a stolen vehicle from Halifax that had been reported to police earlier in the evening was spotted by officers at 8:44 p.m., the release said. When police tried to stop the vehicle, the driver didn’t comply. The suspect stopped the vehicle on Coronation Avenue and he fled on foot but was caught by police.
The man was identified as the suspect in the Dartmouth robbery and taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
