BAY ROBERTS, N.L. - Bay Roberts RCMP urge parents not to let their children play with old cellphones.

Over the last month a child called 911 more than 200 times on an inactive cellphone. These types of calls take away precious time from someone who may really need it.

An inactive cellphone can dial 911, even if you don’t have a plan or pay as you go minutes. Removing the batteries or locking your cell phone will prevent accidental 911 calls.
