ANTIGONISH, N.S. — The debut kids’ music album from Bingly and the Rogues is coming this July.
The album, titled Cowboy Dinosaur, will feature vocals and performances from a number of Antigonish artists, including; Laura Teasdale, Justin Gregg, Jenn Priddle, Jake Hanlon, Jeremy Holmes, Sadie Goering, Paul Tynan, Ranke de Vries, and Natasha MacKinnon, as well as a number of kids from Antigonish, including; Mary Kate Burke, Harriet Ritchie, Mila Gregg, Lucas and Amaranth Gunter, and Beau, Eva, and Sela Laudadio.
“Everyone on this album has a connection to Antigonish,” Justin Gregg, who produced the album, said. “Our goal with Bingly and the Rogues was to create an album of fun and funny songs featuring local artists. We are hoping the album gets international attention and recognition, so we can showcase the amazing talents of the Antigonish-based musicians who came together for this project. Our little town is overflowing with talent.”
The group is raising money on Kickstarter to have the album mixed at Lakewind Sound Studios in Cape Breton.
“We’ve written music that we hope parents are going to enjoy just as much as their kids,” Gregg said. “The album has a mix of musical styles, from hip hop to bluegrass and dance music. It’s the perfect album for summer road trips.”
The album will launch in mid-July and will be available through all major online streaming and sales platforms. To support the group and order a digital copy of the album ahead of this summer’s launch, and get a sneak preview of some of the songs on the album, visit www.binglyandtherogues.com.
