Bomb threat caused evacuation of New Glasgow businesses

New Glasgow Regional Police and New Glasgow Fire Department evacuated the Aberdeen Business Centre on East River Road, New Glasgow because of a reported bomb threat that occurred just after 4 p.m. Nov. 6.

The threat was directed towards Web.com’s New Glasgow Office, but adjacent businesses including the Aberdeen Sobeys, Giant Tiger and Value Village were also evacuated.

The business in the Aberdeen Business Centre were then searched by New Glasgow Regional Police and the New Glasgow Fire Department. The search was completed at 8:50 p.m. and nothing suspicious was found.

This incident remains under investigation by the New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit.
