SYDNEY, N.S. — Four people have been arrested after police received a call about "shots fired" in Sydney just after 12 a.m. on Oct. 13.

“We responded to a complaint about a firearm being discharged (near Hillside Court in Sydney),” said Cape Breton Regional Police inspector Stephen MacKinnon.

“As a result, a number of people have been arrested. There were no injuries.”

MacKinnon said four people were arrested at the scene, three men and one woman.

The Major Crime unit is following up with the investigation.

Close to 350 calls were made to CBRP from Friday – Sunday, including the suspicious fire of the Membertou II commercial fishing boat at the Dobson Yacht club, a house fire in Dominion and numerous disturbance complaints.

There were also multiple motor vehicle accidents and four people were arrested for impaired driving – three in Central Division and one in North Division. Charges are being filed for the four people arrested for driving under the influence.
