DEBERT, N.S. — A moose who visited a Debert farm was in no hurry to leave.
The animal showed up at the Lumsden Family Farm Thursday evening. Oct. 3, and was still there the next morning.
“It’s pretty exciting because we haven’t seen a moose here in 10 years,” said Kevin Lumsden. “We saw it in the fields near us around 10 last night, and then this morning a neighbour let us know it was in with the goats. They don’t seem to mind the moose and the moose doesn’t mind them.”
He said the fence isn’t high, so the moose was probably able to step over it.
“It’s no every day the wild comes to see you,” he said. “The one we saw 10 years ago just walked through so it was a short visit. This one’s been around all morning.”
People driving past were often doing a double-take and turning their car around to get a better look at the unusual visitor
