FRAMBOISE, N.S. — The Richmond County RCMP are investigating the death of a 28-year-old woman.
Monday afternoon (July 8), at 1:30, police received a call of a drowning on Crooked Lake Road in Framboise.
The woman, who was at a remote cottage location with a friend, went for a swim. A short time later, she disappeared under the surface and did not come back up.
Her friend tried to offer assistance, but she could not reach her in time.
Police and volunteer firefighters were not able to find the woman.
Tuesday morning (July 9), RCMP underwater recovery team divers found the body.
Police said they have not made a determination about criminality.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
