Police issued a pair of tickets to a school bus driver on Thursday morning after a pedestrian was hit in a Bedford crosswalk.

Officers responded to the report of the collision at the intersection of Larry Uteck Boulevard and Southgate Drive at about 8 a.m., according to a Halifax Regional Police news release.

"The bus was turning left on to Southgate Drive and struck a pedestrian who was in a marked crosswalk," the release said.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time.

The 22-year-old Halifax woman who was struck was treated at the scene by paramedics.

"The driver of the bus, a 25-year-old Halifax man, was issued summary offence tickets for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and for driving with an obstructed windshield (frost)," the release said.
