Trudeau arrives in Antigonish

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is making the next stop on his Tuesday tour of northeastern Nova Scotia.

Shortly after noon, the Liberal leader arrived at St. F.X. in Antigonish.

Over the next couple hours, he will join Central Nova MP Sean Fraser for a community barbecue on the university campus.

This morning, Trudeau was with Premier Stephen McNeil at East Pictou Middle School in neighbouring Pictou County, where he announced $90 million in federal funding to help finance twinning of a stretch of Trans-Canada Highway 104 in the region.

The $195-million initiative will see 38 kilometres of roadway twinned between Sutherland's River, Pictou County, and Antigonish.
