Allan MacKay

A graveside service for the late Allan MacKay, 83, West Bay, Inverness County, was held August 25 in West Bay Cemetery, West Bay, with Reverend Donna Lovelace officiating. Mr. MacKay died August 20, 2018, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in West Bay, he was a son of the late John Archie and Annie Rhoda (MacLean) MacKay. He was retired from Georgia Pacific, having worked in Big Brook and Sugarcamp. He was an adherent of the United Church of Canada. He enjoyed trapping, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christine (Shaw) MacKay; daughter, Caroline MacKay (Larry Wallace), Cole Harbour; son, Roy (Loretta), West Bay; three grandchildren, Jamie (Brittany), Elisha (Rob), Jessie; four great-grandchildren, Finley, Bianca, Anyanka, Cosima; sister, Ruth Lewis, Halifax; brother-in-law, Alex (Florence) Shaw, West Bay Center. He was predeceased by three sisters, Isabel, Jean, Annie Mae; six brothers, John, Angus Dan, Jimmy, Harry, Roy (8 years old), Allan, (stillborn); brother-in-law, Jackie Shaw; sister-in-law, Miriam MacRae.
