Funeral service for the late David ‘Ambrose’ O’Connor, 83, Croft, Antigonish County, was held June 25 in St. Andrew’s Church, St. Andrews, with Father Anthony O’Connor officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. O’Connor died June 21, 2019, in R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home Antigonish. Readers at the funeral Mass were Karen Grace-MacKinnon and Travis Grace. Music was provided by Ty Wallace. Pallbearers were Jerome Fraser, Jerome MacPherson, Lawrence Grace, AJ MacDonald, Kevin Boyle and Greg Murphy. Born March 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (MacGillivray) O’Connor. He was a man of great faith, who took comfort in the grace of God. He was a farmer all his life in Croft. His love of animals came in handy with both his cattle and horses. He enjoyed playing auction or 45s, was a devoted Tory - always available to work the polls and was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan. He is survived by his sister, Mary Margaret (O’Connor) Grace; eight nieces; three nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Leonard Grace; family friend, Joe Welsh.
