ANGELA ISABEL (FOUGERE) BENOIT

Funeral service for the late Angela Isabel (Fougere) Benoit, 93, Halifax, was held November 2 in St. Paul’s Church, Havre Boucher, Antigonish County. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Benoit died October 22, 2019, in Halifax.

Born November 8, 1925, in Frankville, Antigonish County, she was a daughter of the late Bella and Cyril Fougere. She worked at Goodmans and Antigonish 5₵ to $1.00 before moving to Halifax. She was a devout Catholic who walked to Mass daily, then watched daily Mass on television, when she was no longer able to walk. She enjoyed knitting and making puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter, Anne Marie Nahirnak; son, Gerard (Liz) Benoit; four grandchildren, Barry (Magda), Michael, Michelle (Brett), Adam (Andrea); two great-grandchildren, Lauren, Natalie; four nieces, Annette (Lawrence) DeCoste, Havre Boucher; Linda (Ian) McKeen, Aspen; Dorothy (Ronnie) Post, New Glasgow; Louise Levangie, Port Hawkesbury; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
