Funeral service for the late Anna Evelyn Cameron, 89, Port Hood, Inverness County, was held August 29 in St. Stephen’s/Jubilee United Church, Port Hood, with Pastor Maggie Plant, DLM, officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Cameron died August 23, 2019, in Inverary Manor, Inverness.

Born July 2 1930, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Grace (Smith) Tobey, Port Hood Island. She grew up on the Island, attending school at Margaret Ann Memorial and Sunday school in Jubilee Church. She was a woman of great faith and remained active in the church her entire life. She attended college in Moncton, New Brunswick, to further her religious studies before getting married in 1955. They moved to Toronto, where she worked at the T. Eaton Company. They returned home several years later to build a home and raise a family. She was involved in countless groups, charities, and activities over the years. She enjoyed music and going to the Friday night jams at the church. She was the youngest and last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by daughter, Diane (Kevin) Pierce, Sugarcamp; son, Scott, Glencoe; four grandchildren, Shelly (Nick) Stewart, Gull Lake, Alberta; Amy (Jake) Brennan, Gatineau, Quebec; Nancy Cameron-Dykens (Erik Dykens), Port Hood;  Grant (Ronelle Chaisson), Port Hood; three great-granddaughters, Emma, Jane, Avery.

She was predeceased by her husband, Willie; eight siblings; daughter-in-law, Marcey (MacDonell).

Memorial donations may be made to the Jubilee United Church Restoration Fund or a charity of choice.
