Anthony Leo ‘Tony’ MacDonald

Funeral service for the late Anthony Leo ‘Tony’ MacDonald, 49, Antigonish, was held April 18 in St. Ninian Cathedral with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Mr. MacDonald died April 15, 2019, at home. Reader at the funeral Mass was Joe Chesal. Music was provided by Emery van de Wiel. Pallbearers were Craig Brow, Justin Brow, George Brow, Dave Stroud and Jeff Smith. Born October 4, 1969, in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Dougall and Alice (Dort) MacDonald. He drove a taxi in Antigonish for several years. He enjoyed Scottish and Irish music, family gatherings, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Rita (Campbell); daughter, Jessica (Arthur) Pettipas, Antigonish; five sons, Michael (Dana), Andrew, Christopher, Jonathan, Daniel, all of Antigonish; two sisters, Helen (Dave) Stroud, Anne (Steve) Brow, both of Antigonish.
