BARBARA NORA KENNEDY

Barbara Nora Kennedy

Funeral service for the late Barbara Nora Kennedy, 103, R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, was held August 20 in St. Ninian Cathedral with Father Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Reader at the funeral Mass was Linda Brailean. Music was provided by Emery Van de Wiel.

Pallbearers were Gerard Chisholm, Guy MacGillivray, Walter Tramble, Reg Tramble, Francis Tramble and Michael Kennedy.

She was a daughter of the late Walter W. and Mary Ann (Purcell) Tramble. She worked at St. F.X. University for many years as secretary to Father Brewer, head librarian of Angus. L. Macdonald Library.  She had also worked in Montreal, where she received her formal secretarial training. In earlier years, she worked for N.S.P.C. in both Antigonish and New Glasgow. After retiring, she became involved in Club 60, including organization and fundraising for the construction of the current Club 60 building on Main Street. She enjoyed many activities including card plays, bridge, cribbage, gardening, pickling, baking, sewing and knitting.

She is survived by son, Walter (Linda), Regina, Saskatchewan; two granddaughters, Barbara, Regina, Sask.; Ashley (Chris), Calgary, Alberta; grandson, Michael, Antigonish; great-grandson, Jase.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Kennedy; five brothers, four sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to the R. K. Macdonald Nursing Home Corporation.
