Born April 6, 1924, in Country Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Lois (Hudson) Sutherland. She moved to Halifax, where she started her family and worked at Dominion most of her career. She enjoyed many summers with her family at the cottage in Isaacs Harbor, and Rawdon Gold Mines campground, where she would learn to craft the latest trends. She was very involved with the Fairview United Church, as well as the Crown Jewells of Canada ladies club. She is survived by son, Donald (Karen) Malloy; daughter, Nancy Oickle (Earl); six grandchildren, Lynn (Chris) Malloy, Marshall (Kelly) Malloy, Travis Oickle, Jason (Crystal) Malloy, Lisa Hutt, Scott (Tasja) Malloy; 10 great-grandchildren, Sherrylynn (Tom) Smith, Hunter Cole, Derek Spinks, Jacob Malloy, Evan Malloy, Keira Hutt, Shelbey Hutt, Amber Lace, Hunter Hutt, Grace Malloy; two great- great-grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Rielyn Lace; sister, Lois; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall Malloy; daughter-in-law, Carrie Malloy; son-in-law, Barry Oickle; brother, Reg Sutherland; sister-in-law, Vera Sutherland; brother-in-law, Roland Theriault.
