BEATRICE 'LOUISE' BELYEA
Funeral service for the late Beatrice ‘Louise’ Belyea, Queensville, Inverness County, was held October 26 in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Reverend Susan Slater officiating. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury.
Mrs. Belyea died October 22, 2019, in the Palliative Care Unit, St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born August 3, 1941, in Saint John, New Brunswick she was the fourth of five girls of the late Francis and Alice (Orr) van Wart. She was educated in Saint John City Schools before working for NB Telephone Company and National Drug Company, then became a stay at home mom. After raising her children, she became a personnel care worker and worked at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, bowling and reading. She sang in the choir at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Port Hawkesbury. She enjoyed cooking and playing cards at Evergreen Seniors Club, also spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert ‘Bob’ Alfred Belyea; two sons, Trent (Shelly), Sackville; Jon (Cathy), West Bay Road; daughter, Wendy (Jim MacRae), Port Hawkesbury; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Danielle, Robby, Justice, Kelsey, Emma, Shay-Leigh, A.J.; sister, Annie Slipp, Central Hampstead, N.B.; sister-in-law, Donna (Robert) Huggard, Sussex, N.B.; brother-in-law, Bud (Donna) Belyea, French Village, N.B.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Jessie Capson, June Capson, Carole Buckley.
