Bernadette Marie Young

Funeral service for the late Bernadette Marie Young, 57, Waycobah First Nation, was held May 24 in Blessed Kateri Parish, Waycobah, with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Mrs. Young died May 17, 2019, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Baddeck, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Googoo) Michael. She was a member of Blessed Kateri Parish, Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah. She enjoyed craft making, from bead work to crocheting, especially making crochet hats for her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, William Young (Eskasoni); three children, Melissa (Randall), William (Adrienne), Charlie (Sharon); eight grandchildren, Serena, Adreah, Korbin, Sebashton ‘Bash’, Tristen, Randall Jij, Jasper, Hailey; two sisters, Janey Michael, Katy Michael; brother, Andrew Michael; two godchildren, Carrie Anne Michael, Kelsey Stevens.
