Bernard C. Melong

Funeral service for the late Charles Bernard ‘Bernie’ Melong, 70, Harve Boucher, was held June 22 in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Havre Boucher, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Mr. Melong died June 18, 2018, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born June 21, 1947, in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Morris) Melong. He enjoyed living life to the fullest and going on long drives. Most of his working years were spend in the finance industry. He is survived by five sisters, Lori (Wes Rudolph), Eastern Passage; Vera Lynn (Shawn Restoule), Yvonne (Leonard Sampson), Havre Boucher; Betty (Ves Williams) Hadleyville; Ruth Warner, Port Hastings; five brothers, John (Theresa), Jimmy (Martina), Charlie (Mary), all of Harve Boucher; Eric (Julia), Bedford; Berkie (Mary), Port Hawkesbury; special niece and caregiver, Tabatha Banks (Eli Jakeman) and her children, Caleb, Layne, Harve Boucher; special friend and cousin, Karen Lambert, Frankville; two sisters-in-law, Alice Melong, Uxbridge, Ontario; Donna Morris, Prince Edward Island; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Bert, Bruce; brother-in-law, Eddie Warner. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Luncheon Fund or the Glebe House Fund.
