Bertha Sophia Munroe

Funeral service for the late Bertha Sophia Munroe, 93, Whitehead, Guysborough County, was held March 8 in Whitehaven Community Center, Whitehead, with Reverend Heather Manuel officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Mrs. Munroe died March 2, 2019 in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born June 14, 1925, in Yankie Harbour, Whitehead, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Clarissa (Munroe) Peitzsche. She enjoyed cooking, baking and was an avid quilter, giving most of her quilts to her family and friends. She enjoyed socializing at bingos and card plays. Her happiest times were when she had a houseful of company and was serving them homemade cooking. Christmas was her favourite time of the year, getting the house decorated and baking for weeks before and having family home. She is survived by two sons, Paul (Carol), Beaverbank; Roger, Dartmouth; four grandchildren Richard (Tara), Michelle (Aaron), Jenna, Tauna; two great-grandchildren, Tyler, Drew.
