BETTY CROOKS
Funeral service for the late Betty Dorothy Crooks, 90, Antigonish, formerly of Seal Harbour, Guysborough County, was held July 17 in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Country Harbour, with Reverend Sue Channen officiating. Burial was in Bayview Cemetery, Goldboro.
Mrs. Crooks died July 13, 2019, in R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish.
Born in Uckfield, County Sussex, England, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Simmons) Loughlin, and step-father, William H. Jones. She came to Canada on July 14, 1973. She was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 59, Antigonish.
She is survived by her sister, Vee (John) Beal; brother, Keith; many family members and friends in England and Ontario.
She was predeceased by her husband, Courtney ‘Poppa’ Crooks; six brothers, Bill, Fred, Tom, Frank; twins, James and Antony, in infancy.
