Funeral service for the late Blair Anderson Campbell, 73, was held May 3 in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Campbell died April 28, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. A member of a large Cape Breton family, he was a son of Agnes Campbell, St. Peter’s, and the late Dan Campbell. He was very active in the local Catholic Church, serving on the St. Peter’s Parish Council for many years, as well as being a valued member of the Richmond Villa’s board of directors. He enjoyed playing cards, particularly beating anyone at crib and vacationing in Cuba and Florida. He was also a life-long Montreal Canadiens fan. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bernice; children, Darren (Dawn Ostrem), St. Peter’s; Brian, Penticton, British Columbia; Lena Aho (Mikael Aho), Uppsala, Sweden; three grandchildren, Olivia Campbell, St. Peter’s; Matilda and Nora Aho, Uppsala, Sweden; six brothers, Lloyd (Estelle), Rothesay, N.B.; Danny (Beverly Lafford), St. Peter’s; Terrance (Elaine Fougere), Halifax; David (Deborah Morrison Leigh), St. Peter’s; Billy (Erin Conway) Port Elgin, Ontario; Leo (Liz Campbell), St. Peter’s; three sisters, Eleanor Samson (Roy Samson), Louisdale; Cynthia (Lloyd Burke), St. Peter’s; Susan (Doug MacKenzie), Halifax; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
