Funeral service for the late Robert ‘Blaise’ MacDonald, 60, Truro, was held June 13 in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Havre Boucher, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. MacDonald died June 2, 2018, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Readers at the funeral Mass were Roselle Lawlor and Danny Fougere. Mary Jane MacDonald and Eileen Grant presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by St. Paul’s Choir. Urn bearer was Julien Wickstrom. Born June 22, 1957, in Antigonish, he was the only son of Christina (McKeough) and the late Robert ‘Bob’ MacDonald. He grew up in Linwood, where he graduated from Antigonish East High School. He worked at Crosley Carpet Mills Limited for 25 years and, most recently, at TDR Transportation and Logistics. He was an avid music lover and a lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Besides his mother, he is survived by daughter, Christina MacDonald (Julien Wickstrom), Ottawa, Ontario; four sisters, Mary MacEachern, Linwood; Maureen MacDonald, Halifax; Margaret MacEachern, Stellarton; Bonnie Pilkington, Dartmouth; former wife, Ruth McCabe, Truro. He was predeceased by son, Nathan; brother-in-law, Ron. Memorial donations may be made to the Lupus Society of Nova Scotia or Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia.
