Funeral service for the late Bridget ‘Biddy’ Harriet McKeough, 85, Three Mile Lake, Guysborough County, was held May 28 in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso, with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mrs. McKeough died May 23, 2018, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born November 15, 1932, in Margaree Valley, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Alice (Doyle) Murphy. She taught in Margaree Intervale, Linwood, Riversdale, Hazel Hill, Canso, Little Dover and Half Island Cove, retiring in 1983. She was a founding member of the Hazel Hill Community Centre, a member of the Hazel Hill Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, The Shamrock Seniors Club and the Star of the Sea Parish. She is survived by four daughters, Mary Taylor, Canso; Bernadette (Nelson) Harnish, Fox Island; Geraldine Bouchie, Windsor; Lana Gibson, Barrie, Ontario; son, Kevin (Susan), Fox Island; son-in-law, Terry MacMillan, Pomquet; honorary daughter, Rhonda Bennett, Canso; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; four step-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alice Cormier, Margaree Forks; Lillian Landsburg, Westmount; Carmel (Dave) Timmons, Margaree Forks; Ursula (Patrick) Butler, Kingston, Ont.; Grace (Frank) McNab, Ladysmith, British Columbia; five brothers, Dennis (Mary), Scotsburn; Kevin (Joan), New Glasgow; Hugh (Mary), Margaree Valley; Ranold, Magaree Forks; Eugene (Julie), Margaree Valley; sister-in-law, Emily Dort, Canso. She was predeceased by her husband, William ‘Bill’; daughter, Valerie MacMillan; two sisters, Catherine, Bernadette; two brothers, Patrick, Martin; son-in-law, Roger Bouchie.
