Funeral service for the late Cassidy Jean Bernard, 22, We’Koqma’q First Nation, was held November 3 in Blessed St. Katari Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqma’q First Nation, with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Ms. Bernard died October 24, 2018. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of Mona Bernard and Alonzo Denny. She lived in Waycobah First Nation and graduated in 2014. Besides her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Mya Mae and Paisley Jean Bernard; grandmother, Julena Bernard; great-uncle, John Wayne Bernard; seven siblings, Jillian (John), Jordan (Jennifer), Tyra, Renee (Tommy), Martha, Ally, Haley; godparents, Maynard Poulette, Margie Marshall; four godchildren, Arabella, John Nicholas Jr., Bentley, Macy; many aunts and uncles.
