Catherine Florence 'Kay' Roach

Funeral service for the late Catherine Florence ‘Kay’ Roach, 82, Port Hastings, was held August 3 in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Port Hawkesbury. Mrs. Roach died July 28, 2018. Born January 23, 1936 in North East Mabou, Inverness County, she was a daughter of the late Angus and Mamie (Gillis) Beaton. She grew up on the family farm was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Parish, Port Hawkesbury, a dedicated volunteer of 16 years to the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home and a 20 year member of Emmanual Prayer Group. She reverenced God’s creation and marveled at the beauty and awe of nature. She is survived by two sons, Bob Roach (Karen), Gary Roach; daughter, Brenda Cooper (Jamie); four grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Cooper; Peter and Dawson Roach; four great-grandchildren, Dylan, Emma, Kaiya and Elija Cooper. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Paul Roach; son, Angus Roach; two sisters, Anne Isobell (Gerald) MacIsaac, Jessie Margaret (Allen) MacEachern; three brothers, John Dougall Beaton, John Francis Beaton, Alex Hugh Beaton.
