Catherine ‘Sheila’ MacEachern
Funeral service for the late Catherine ‘Sheila’ MacEachern, 75, was held April 26 in Holy Rosary Church, Ballantyne’s Cove, with Father Andrew Boyd officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. MacEachern died April 21, 2019.
Reader at the funeral Mass was Elaine Gillis. Tommy MacEachern and Stella MacEachern presented the offertory gifts. Music was provided by Ty Wallace.
Pallbearers were grandchildren Corey McCarron, Kyle McCarron, Alex MacEachern, Dean MacEachern, Raechelle MacEachern and Madison MacEachern.
Born July 15, 1943, in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Mary Anne Boyd. She was raised at Cribbons Point, until she married and set up their home at Ballantyne’s Cove. She had a flair for baking and her endless flower beds always drew the attention of others. She and her husband worked for many years in their boat building business, which enabled her to be home. She was a dedicated mother.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Albert R.; four children, Monica McCarron (Al), Hamilton, Ontario; Sandy MacEachern, Sarnia, Ontario; Boyd MacEachern (Sherri),Bayfield; Jannifer Burns (Bobby), Eastern Passage; 10 grandchildren, Corey, Kyle, Scott, Alex, Dean, Raechelle, Madison, Jainah, Lillie, Gracie; three great-grandchildren, Lydia, Patrick, Declan; six siblings, Angus R. (Florence), Ross (Camilla), Paul (Laureen); Rose Boudreau (Joe), Antigonish; George, (late Peggy), Gerard (Lynn) Vancouver.
She was predeceased by brother, Allan Rankin (Flo).
