CHARLES EDWARD PHEE

Charles Edward Phee

Funeral service for the late Charles Edward ‘Eddie’ Phee, 74, Antigonish, was held November 19 in St. Ninian Cathedral with Father John Barry officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.    

Mr. Phee died November 14, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.    

Readers at the funeral Mass were Barbara Nash and Howard Frazier. Eucharistic ministers were Willie Westenenk and Bette Salsman. Music was provided by St. Ninian Choir.    

Pallbearers were William Phee, Matthew Phee, Christian Phee, Regan Phee, Alexandre Chaumont, Marc-André Chaumont and Ben MacInnis.    

Born October 2, 1945, in Antigonish, he was a son of the late James Edward and Mary Agnes (Medley) Phee. He enjoyed fishing, visits to Tim Hortons, and gardening, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren.  He was well known for his sense of humour and practical jokes.    

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beryl (Fougere); five children, Raymond (Debra), Amherst; Chris (Cheryl), Dartmouth; Patricia (Martin), Alymer, Quebec; Glenn, Dartmouth; Charmaine (Elvis), Antigonish; 11 grandchildren, Kyra, William, Christian, Kristy, Alexandre, Matthew, Regan, Marc-André, Aleah, Breanne, Ava; two sisters, Bette (Mike), Kentville; Joan, Antigonish; brother, David, Antigonish.    

He was predeceased by three sisters, Linda, Mary Ann, Ida; two brothers, John, Norman.
