Charles Joseph Sampson

Funeral service for the late Charles Joseph Sampson, Louisdale, was held September 22 in St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisdale, with Father Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial was in St. Louis Cemetery, Louisdale. Mr. Sampson died September 14, 2018, in Strait Richmond Hospital. He was a son of the late Obeline and Joseph Sampson. As a young man, he worked as an ironworker and traveled throughout Nova Scotia to care for his family. He was well known in the community for his good heart and strong work ethic. He was often seen riding his bicycle or working around the yard, keeping up with his gardens, building bird houses or decorating his home extravagantly for the holidays. He also cared for his grandchildren throughout the years of his retirement with his wife. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Priscilla Sampson; four daughters, Evangeline (Hubert ‘Cubbie’) Ruth, Darlene (Sandy), Margaret (Brent); two sons, Joseph, Francis (Melanie); eight grandchildren, Chad, Ashley, Daniel, Jared, Katelyn, Rebecca, Miranda, Teagan; four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Camryn, Logan, Carter; two brothers, Abraham, Raymond. He was predeceased by son, Joseph; daughter, Evangeline; grandson, Francis Jr.; three sisters, Gertrude, Ida, Madeline; four brothers, Arthur, Joseph, Ned, Bernard.
