Funeral service for the late Christine Eleanor Clyke, 82, Sunnyville, Guysborough County, along with the ashes of her husband, was held March 12 in Wesley United Church, Guysborough, with Reverend Heather Manuel and Deacon Alonzo Reddick officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough, at a later date. Mrs. Clyke died February 27, 2019, at home. Born in Sunnyville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Bowden. She enjoyed baking, cooking and knitting. She worked at the Canso Sea Foods for 37 years. She then worked as a private house keeper. She is survived by 12 children, Harold, Toronto; Carl (Carolyn), Guysborough; Clarence, Mississauga, Ontario; Aubrey, Toronto; Clinton, London, Ont.; Russell (Giselle), Gatineau, Quebec; Doreen, Guysborough; Ida, Montreal; Joan, Guysborough; Curtis (Joanne), St. Thomas, Ont.; Kevin (Sarah), Dundas, Ont.; Linda (Doug), Guysborough; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie, Toronto; Elizabeth, Sydney; Evelyn, Bedford; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey; grandson, Harold; granddaughter, Shianna; great-grandson, Troy; two brothers, Everette and James Borden; two sisters, Sarah Jane and Lominda.
