Funeral service for the late Clarence John DeWolfe, 89, Pomquet, Antigonish County was held July 5 in Ste. Croix Church, Pomquet, with Father Andrew Gillies officiating, assisted by Deacon Art Riley. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. DeWolfe died July 2, 2018 in St Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Readers at the funeral Mass were Karen Delorey and Jane DeWolfe. Music was provided by Ste. Croix Choir, organist Carmel MacPherson, John and Robert Rennie. Pallbearers were Leo DeWolfe, Ronnie Delorey, Georgie DeYoung, Charlie Landry, John Landry and Charles Smith. Born in Pomquet, he was a son of the late James and Annie (Benoit) DeWolfe. In his early years, he worked for Inco Nickle in Sudbury, Ontario. He was also employed in construction for many years and spent 20 years in the custodian department at St. F.X., before his retirement in 1992. He worked the family farm in Pomquet Point and was an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Elizabeth (Venedam); two daughters, Debbie MacNeil, North Grant; Jane (Kevin) Partridge, Lower South River; son, Leo DeWolfe, Pomquet Point; grandchild, Jaclyn (Jamie) Clark; three great-grandchildren, Taryn, Calvin and Barrett; sister, Anna (Clemie) Delorey, Pomquet Point, brother, Arthur. He was predeceased by his grandson, Craig MacNeil; three sisters, Mary, Rita and Julic; brother, Wilfred. Memorial donations may be made to VON Antigonish. Online condolences: www.clcurry.com
