Funeral service for the late Clarence Joseph Boudreau, 55, was held April 9 in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Tracadie, with Father John Barry officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Mr. Boudreau died April 4, 2019, in QE11 Hospital, Halifax. Readers at the funeral Mass were Darlene DeCoste and Marlene Fitzpatrick. Rachelle Bate, Katrina Bate and Hazel Tate presented the offertory gifts. Eucharistic ministers were Angie Connors and Alice Mattie. Music was provided by Ty Wallace. Active pallbearers were Donnie McNutt, Dave Naughler, Gary Green and Jamie Bate. Honorary pallbearers were Kyle Boudreau, Angus Cotie, Johnny Cotie, Evan Cotie, Tony Cotie, Reggie Myette, Gary Boudreau, Matthew Mattie, Justin Mattie, Billy MacGillivary, Robert DeCoste and Terry Rust. Born February 24, 1964, he was a son of Mary Ann (Cotie) Boudreau, East Tracadie, and the late Clarence Boudreau. He enjoyed the sea, fishing and making memories with his father. He then worked at Michelin Tire for 28 years. After retiring from Michelin, he went back to lobster and crab fishing. He also worked part-time for Mattie's Construction in Monastery. He was a former fire fighter with the Tracadie and District Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling, boating, singing and playing guitars with his family and friends and playing washer toss. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cheryl (Mattie); son, Nathan (Debbie); sister, Carla Bate (Jamie) Pictou; brother, Kenneth (Lori), East Tracadie; sister-in-law, Michelle Macdonald, Port Hawksbury; mother and father-in-law, Sharon and Mark Mattie; brothers-in-law, Matthew (Kathy), Calgary; Justin (Katie), Berwick; many nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by brother, Glen Macdonald; grandparents, Ernest and Grace Cotie; John and Ella Boudreau. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
