Danial Alexander ‘Sonny’ Walker

Funeral service for the late Danial Alexander ‘Sonny’ Walker, 67, was held May 4 in Stella Maris Church with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Mr. Walker died April 14, 2019, at home. Born July 3, 1951, he was the son of the late Donald and Alice Marie (MacKinnon) Walker. He was raised by his grandmother Jessie (MacMaster) Walker. He spent his younger years in Blackstone before moving to Inverness with Jessie. He lived in Montreal for a couple of years before returning home. A painter by trade, he also worked in construction, fisheries, forestry and mining industries. He had a great love of music and sang at many house parties. He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt and tell stories. He is survived by two sons, Aaron (April MacDonald), Shamus Walker; four grandchildren, Sage, Liam, Simon and Sadie; four sisters-in-law, Marion (Dougall), Terrie (Lennon), Murdell (Jim), Colleen (Charles); several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his partner of 45 years, Connie Moore; two sisters, Donna (Glen Baumgartner), Doris (Langlois). Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
