Donald Hugh MacGillivary

Funeral service for the late Donald Hugh MacGillivary, 78, Glendale, Inverness County, was held November 23 in St. Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church, Glendale, with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. MacGillivary died November 18, 2018, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Angus and Christina (MacEachern) MacGillivray. He worked in forestry for many years as a porter operator. He is survived by two daughters, Janet (David) Degano, Bradford, Ontario; Margaret Ann (John) MacRae, Lantz; three sons, Angus A. (Annette), Dundee; Brennan (Lucy), Sheldon, both of Antigonish; 10 grandchildren, Jake, Alley, Ethan, Eric, Cameron, Logan, Breagh, Ceilidh, Shalena, Gabrielle; three brothers, John Alex (Cathy), Lively, Ont.; D.J. (Catherine), Mull River; Francis, Glendale; two sisters, Rose Mary (Dave) Doucet, Sydney; Evelyn (David) Burns, Troy; two sisters-in-law, Rachel MacGillivray, Glendale; Betty MacGillivray, Calgary; brother-in-law, Alfred LeBlanc, Glendale. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (O’Brien); five brothers, Lawrence Alexander, in infancy; Sam, Lawrence, Leonard, Ron; sister, Catherine Anne LeBlanc; two sisters-in-law, Mabel MacGillivray, Barbara MacGillivray.
